Stephen Minter is Breaking Down Traditional Barriers With "Prince Swimwear"

Something new for the men to look forward to- And the ladies to watch. Spring has sprung and the wait is over. Our game-changing swimwear is here to make a sexy splash! Prince Swimwear & Accessories is a black owned men’s swimwear brand. Whether you are on a beach, private island or at the pool, we want you to look good and feel confident in your swimwear. Chicago native Stephen Minter is beating all odds and writing his own success story.

Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, the 28-year-old doctoral candidate and model is determined to make his mark in Fashion. Minter launched Prince Swimwear in March of 2021 as a response to the lack of diversity in the swim and resort wear market. Prince Swimwear & Accessories is a brand intended to provoke new ideals in fashion through body positivity. Whether you’re on the beach, vacation, or the yacht, Prince Swim will effortlessly make you stand out amongst the crowd. From bold polka dots to sheer tops and satin cover ups Prince Swim is a guaranteed confidence booster. Stephen’s desire to create a swimwear brand sparked as a result of the global pandemic when he felt uninspired and challenged with finding bold and inclusive swimwear. As an avid traveler and fashion lover Stephen states “Prince Swim represents the bold fashion lover who is ready to push the envelope unapologetically and in the most authentic way. It’s created for the the bold explorer and confident traveler” Being a young, black and former educator in one of the largest school districts in the country while still facing the perils of entrepreneurship, he made sure to not glorify either or to his students but tell them the truth about following your dreams while still living a sustainable lifestyle. Stephen is determined to provide more opportunities to black and brown owned businesses. His production is managed by Jessica Ke’lon a black owned fashion manufacturer based in Houston. Minter works with a diverse group of creatives and thrives on collaboration while putting emphasis on networking across versus networking up.
